home work week 1 - 5k in 100 days

So, for my 46th b-day I got myself a gym membership (www.planetfitness.com $10 bux a month, thankyouverymuch!) and started to train for a 5k.
The first minute of running terrified me. I was freaking out, would I fall flat on my face & get dumped off the backend of the treadmill? Will I twist my ankle? The right one isn’t so good to begin with…so my tremendous weight, pounding down on it (in a hopefully rhythmic manner) may be just too damn much? Will I be able to make it a full minute? Sixty seconds? Doesn’t seem like a lot to ask of my body…and yet, I knew in reality I was asking a HUGE amount from my body.
That first minute was the hardest thing I have done (voluntarily) in the last 30 years! But I finished the first workout. Then I did the second workout….7 “sprints”? is he out of his mind? Am I out of my mind? And today I finished the third workout. I haven’t taken this much control over my body/life in forever…yay for me!
I feel quite accomplished & not really sore at all! I realize that this isn’t quite what you may be looking for in a weekly update, so I will try to reel it in and focus for next weeks.
